How to watch Oshi no Ko
Oshi no Ko is a brand-new anime series that's got fans and critics buzzing thanks to its sinister and satirical take on Japan's idol industry.
The show blends music, science fiction and crime-drama elements to create a unique story that attempts to analyze the darker side of fandom and the Japanese music biz.
The series is based on an ongoing manga written by Aka Akasaka and illustrated by Mengo Yokoyari.
Oshi no Ko's first episode — a 90-minute special that takes place a number of years before the events of the show — aired on April 12, and new episodes are released every Wednesday at 3 pm GMT.
Unlike most major modern anime, the show isn't available in the UK and USA via either Netflix or Crunchyroll.
Instead, Oshi no Ko is available to watch in the UK on the streaming service HIDIVE, which is available on its own or through Prime Video's 'channels' (although you'll need a Prime Video membership to access it this way).
HIDIVE memberships are available for $4.99 per month or $47.99 for a whole year. New subscribers can also watch Oshi no Ko for free with a seven-day trial.

As well as Oshi no Ko, HIDIVE subscribers get access to a substantial library of anime series, including new shows like Insomniacs After School and The Eminence in Shadow.
