In the Latin community, a quinceañera is one of the marquee moments in a young girl's life. With roots in Mexico and Spain, this 15th birthday celebration is a rite of passage when a teenage girl officially moves into womanhood.
The party is a family affair. However, Juan Manuel Hernandez, from Santa Rosa, Texas, was unable to attend the quinceañera of his granddaughter, Gabriela, after having a stroke. But Gabriela was determined that he wouldn't miss out entirely. So, three days after her quinceañera, she traveled 130 miles to the rehab center where her grandfather was being treated. And there, dressed to impress, she sprung a wonderful surprise.
