What is Remember the Titans about?

This 2000 biopic starring Denzel Washington and Will Patton tells the story of Herman Boone and Bill Yoast, who coached football during the integration of three Virginia high schools in the autumn of 1971.

Although segregation had already been legally ended, consolidation of the schools meant that predominantly white and black communities were coming together for the first time, and racial tensions became an added pressure for the football team.

Boone, the head coach of the team as well as a black man, is warned that he will lose his job the moment the Titans lose even a single game. Coach Yoast, meanwhile, stands to be inducted into the Virginia High School Hall of Fame if and when Boone does get fired.

When officials conspire to rig a game against Boone and his Titans, Yoast catches on to what’s happening, and stands by his coaching partner, threatening to expose everyone involved in fixing the match.

This one also stars Wood Harris, Ryan Hurst, Donald Faison, Craig Kirkwood, Ethan Suplee, Kip Pardue, Hayden Panettiere, Nicole Ari Parker, Kate Bosworth, Earl Poitier, Ryan Gosling, Burgess Jenkins, and Neal Ghant.

To start watching Remember the Titans, you can subscribe to Disney+ today for $6.99 a month or $69.99 per year. Or you can get the service as part of a special value bundle with ESPN+ and Hulu for $12.99 a month in total.
