What to Watch on Saturday: Jackman and Janney in new movie, ’48 Hours’ true crime

Bad Education (8 p.m., HBO) - This new HBO film starring Hugh Jackman and Allison Janney is inspired by the true story of the aftermath of a multi-million-dollar embezzlement scheme that rocked the town of Rosyln, New York. The dark comedy highlights the deficiencies in the public education system in the US.

Matchmaker Mysteries: A Fatal Romance (9 p.m., Hallmark, Hallmark Movies & Mysteries) - In this new Hallmark movie, a romance writer is murdered, so matchmaker Angie Dove and Detective Kyle Cooper read between the lines to find the killer.

48 Hours (10 p.m., CBS) - Maria Elena Salinas investigate the death of Binghamton (NY) University student Haley Anderson, and the hunt for her killer. Haley was a young nursing student who went missing from her off-campus apartment in March 2018 and was tracked by her roommates using the Find My Friends app. Her phone was traced to the apartment of Orlando Tercero, a fellow nursing student and Haley’s friend. No one answered the door when Haley’s friends knocked, so they climbed in through an open window and made a horrifying discovery. Salinas interviews Haley’s mother, boyfriend and friends, and travels to Nicaragua to speak to friends Orlando grew up with.

Saturday Night Live (11:30 p.m., NBC) - SNL will air another “at home” quarantine episode tonight, with cast members performing sketches from their homes. The episode will feature a surprise celebrity host and musical guest.
