WATCH: ‘That’s What She Said’ coming to Champaign’s Virginia Theatre this weekend

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WCIA) — This Saturday at 7 p.m., the Virginia Theatre is showcasing girl power as part of “That’s What She Said.” Jenette Jurczyk and Airiel Sadler joined Amanda Brennan to discuss the event.

This marks the 9th year that “That’s What She Said” will take place. This year’s event features nine inspirational women from the Champaign-Urbana community who will bravely share their personal stories.

Interest in women’s basketball rising in Central IL

Sadler is one of this year’s speakers. She said while she is nervous, she is looking forward to encouraging fellow women in the community.

Jurczyk is the National Director of the She Said Project. She said the goal of the project is to inspire and empower women. She also said his weekend’s audience can expect to hear both heart-warming and humorous stories, and she hopes that attendees will be able to either relate to their peers or learn something new about them.

Jurczyk said this year, the event will include an on-stage ASL interpreter.

Tickets for the event and for the after-party at Neil St. Blues are available at The Virginia Theatre’s ticket office or online.

All proceeds will go to Central Illinois rape crisis center RACES.
