Watch Shedrick Jackson post 4.25 40-yard dash, 38.5-inch vertical at Auburn football pro day

AUBURN — Over a dozen players performed at Auburn football's pro day on Tuesday, and none had a better showing than Shedrick Jackson.

Jackson, a receiver who caught 66 passes for 874 yards and a touchdown across five seasons at Auburn, posted an unofficial 4.25 40-yard dash time and added a 38.5-inch vertical jump, according to numbers sent out by AU. He also logged a broad jump score of 11 feet, 2 inches.

"I think I was decent today," Jackson said afterward. "I’ve got more to show. I’m not done yet. I’m not on a team and I’m not satisfied with that."

Jackson, who said he felt he could've done better during the 40-yard dash, was also one of three players to catch passes from Cam Newton, who was in attendance throwing in front of representatives from all 32 NFL teams.

The other two pass-catchers for Newton were his younger brother, Caylin, and tight end John Samuel Shenker.

"That was actually fun," Jackson said. "That was probably my most favorite part, just learning his lingo, seeing his cadence. He’s got good touch on the ball."

Jackson was young during Newton's lone season at Auburn, but he recalls watching some of his best moments.

"It was cool to throw with him and remember those times," Jackson said. "The Iron Bowl comeback and all that, too. Just catching balls from him now was incredible."
