A video of a Lexington baby went viral after speaking her first words at just 8 weeks old last week.
Haisley Rae Allen, now 9 weeks old, and daughter of Breanna Brensinger, 19, and Jake Allen, 21, uttered her first words, "I love you," which was caught on camera by the couple.
Three days before this video was taken, Brensinger said she and her mom were playing with Haisley when she started to sound out words. Each day following, they got a video recording ready but nothing happened.
"I told her dad, who didn't believe me at first, and then kept trying to get her to do it and finally got it on video," Brensinger told The Greenville News on Friday.
Haisley has also said "hi" and Brensinger thinks she says "mama" when she's crying, but "I might be biased," she said.
"I could not believe she has started talking like that already, and I was so happy as I've never seen this before," Brensinger said. "We were super excited when we heard her first words as you would want your child to say those words to you first."
Brensinger said being a new and younger mother is challenging, but she wouldn't change it for the world, she said.
"It was unexpected, but made my life a million times better," she said. "I love being a mother so much. Hopefully, we can keep getting her to talk as she is learning new things every day, and keep her happy and smiling."
The video that went viral was highlighted on CNN's Full Circle with Anderson Cooper this week.
