You’re now able to stream The Clone Wars on Disney+ wherever you’re connected to the internet. Disney’s new direct-to-consumer streaming service is now available in the U.S. and Canada and will eventually be rolling out worldwide.
Disney+ is supported on desktop browsers, “a wide range” of mobile devices, smart TVs, and video-game consoles. The subscription-based platform will serve as the new home for Walt Disney Studios films as well as original, exclusive Disney+ content like Lucasfilm’s new Star Wars series, The Mandalorian, and a full slate of live-action Marvel shows.

What is The Clone Wars about?
In 2005, George Lucas insisted time and time again that Star Wars was over. Anakin Skywalker’s story had been told; two trilogies over three decades would have to do. But ILM and Lucasfilm weren’t going anywhere, he had some interesting ideas about this thing called television, and so why not make a movie-length pilot episode of sorts to sell people on this new era of Star Wars, with its endless surprises?
Enter The Clone Wars, a divisive little experiment that baffled many older audiences—while quietly ushering in a whole new generation of fans, for whom Anakin’s young apprentice, Ahsoka Tano, was the center of their Star Wars experience. This is Star Wars in all its wacky, technicolor glory, with Lucas enlisting director Dave Filoni and a crew of cutting-edge animators to redefine the conflict seen in the live-action prequels for a new audience.
When the animated feature hit theaters in 2008, however, many struggled to find the appeal. “Though I’m hardly the biggest Stars Wars fan, I have generally enjoyed the franchise. But this CG animated feature feels wooden. Maybe we’ve gotten so used to seeing the live-action versions that the animated tale feels like a pale replica. But it’s not just the format that is the problem,” USA Today’s Claudia Puig wrote in 2008. “The story lacks narrative tension. The dialogue is stilted and overblown, a problem also in some of the live-action incarnations. That, combined with visuals that consistently lack punch, leaves little to engage us.”

The film employs the voice-over talents of Matt Lanter, Ashley Eckstein, James Arnold Taylor, Tom Kane, Dee Bradley Baker, Anthony Daniels, Ian Abercrombie, Catherine Taber, and Corey Burton. It also features Samuel L. Jackson reprising the role of Mace Windu and Christopher Lee in his final performance as the villainous Count Dooku.
