How to watch Texas Tech football vs. No. 16 NC State

The Texas Tech football team takes on a second-straight nationally-ranked opponent in an away contest against the North Carolina State Wolfpack at 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 17 at Carter-Finley Stadium in Raleigh, N.C.

The Red Raiders defeated No. 25 Houston 33-30 in double-overtime Sept. 10. The win was Texas Tech's first against a ranked non-conference opponent in the regular season since 1989, when Arizona was the victim in the season opener.

Quarterback Donovan Smith, who took over as the Texas Tech starter after Tyler Shough was injured in the first game of the season, tossed three three interceptions and was sacked five times against the Cougars.

But Smith completed 36 of 58 passes for 351 yards and two touchdowns, and made key plays to keep the game alive for the Red Raiders, earning Big 12 offensive player of the week honors.

In their previous game, NC State blasted FCS for Charleston Southern 55-3 Sept. 10.

Texas Tech and NC State enter the game with 2-0 records.
