WATCH: Thieves steal Land Rover in seconds in East Memphis

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Police are looking for at least three people who stole a Land Rover Discovery in less than 50 seconds Tuesday afternoon in East Memphis.

Surveillance cameras at a strip mall in the 4700 block of Poplar Avenue captured the auto theft during the lunch hour.

In the video, you can see two individuals get out of a light-colored Infiniti Q60 and enter the passenger side of the white Discovery. About 45 seconds later, both vehicles drive out of the parking lot.

Police said the Infiniti Q60 was also stolen but have not released any other details.

A number of people commented on the video after it was posted on the Memphis Police Department’s Facebook page Wednesday night. Some said they were shocked it happened when it did, while some recent crime victims shared their own stories.

“I was carjacked on a Sunday afternoon in broad daylight at a busy gas station. They literally do not care. They don’t care about cameras. One of them didn’t have a mask and wasn’t wearing a shirt. These people are out of control,” said a woman.
