Watch time-lapse video of a ISS spacewalk

American Shane Kimbrough and Thomas Pesquet from the European Space Agency (ESA) exited the ISS at around 0745 ET (1145 GMT) to begin installing the first of six panels.

A spacewalk earlier in June had to be cut short due to multiple complications - the most serious being a sensor in Kimbrough's spacesuit, which regulates pressure suddenly malfunctioning. Other issues included not being able to close the hatch to the ISS and hardware problems with the solar array.
