For fans of Mae Martin who are still missing the comedian’s short-lived Netflix series, we’ve got some good news — the trailer for their new stand-up special has arrived!
The trailer for SAP debuted Wednesday, promising an hour-long special that combines Martin’s familiar self-deprecating and self-aware humor to bring down the house.
“I came in one morning and one of the guys goes, ‘Hey Bathwater, what’s up?’” they said of their time in rehab as a teenager. “Finally, I get comfortable enough with them and we all get close that I’m like, ‘Guys, I’ve been meaning to ask you for months, like, why do you call me Bathwater?’ And they said, ‘Oh, it’s because when you arrived, we all had a conversation, and we decided that you look like the type of kid who would drink their own bathwater.’”

Although Martin previously had a half-hour set in Netflix’s COMEDIANS of the world in 2019, and a deeply beloved series, Feel Good, that ran from 2020-2021, SAP will mark their first hour-long stand-up special with the streamer.
Filmed last December in Vancouver, Canada, and directed by A League of Their Own’s Abbi Jacobson, the special will premiere on Netflix next week on March 28.
