The former president’s Trump Plaza casino is scheduled to be demolished in Atlantic City this week after shuttering its doors to the public in 2014.

In the past, the Trump Plaza was a bustling casino boasting 32 stories, being only the tenth of its kind built in Atlantic City and costing an estimated $210 million in 1984.

As time passed, the Trump Plaza became the lowest-performing casino in the city and was over $500 million in debt by the early 1990s. Mr Trump is no longer the owner of the building.

A drive-in event and live stream of the demolition is being offered with officials expecting thousands of viewers wanting to tune in to witness the implosion.

The “Las Vegas-style implosion” of the casino is scheduled for Wednesday 17 February at 9am EST (2pm GMT).
