WATCH: Tye police pull over wrong-way driver on I-20

TYE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – Tye police discovered firearms after pulling over a wrong-way driver last Friday. Officers then removed the two occupants at gunpoint before their arrests.

The Tye Police Department (TPD) and the Taylor County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO) made an arrest after seeing a a wrong-way driver on I-20 Friday, February 9. In a video posted to Tye PD’s Facebook page, you can see a police unit driving directly in the path of the wrong-way driver to get them to pull over to prevent the driver from, “killing an innocent person.”

Once TPD was able to stop the driver, officers said they were uncooperative and refused to follow requests. Both occupants were found in possession of firearms, and police removed them at gunpoint. They then administered field sobriety tests and arrested both suspects.

Police have not released the identities of the driver nor occupant. No further information has been released.
