The challenges on the penultimate episode of Survivor 42 were pretty gosh-darn exciting. We got to watch the contestants spin themselves silly in a reward challenge that almost saw a dizzy Maryanne whirl right into a camera operator. We then had an immunity challenge that actually got the contestants out and moving through an obstacle course and up a platform in a competition that ended in a nail-biting table maze race between Jonathan and Lindsay.

But there was one other challenge that took place on day 22 that didn't make it to air, and it involved… limbo. Seemingly bored out of their minds (which Survivor players often are), Maryanne and Lindsay decided to engage in an impromptu limbo competition, enlisting Omar to be their stick holder. (A clearly weary Jonathan and Mike declined to participate, with Jonathan noting, "I can barely stand up without passing out, and these guys are doing the limbo.")

Why limbo? "I did limbo with Maryanne, and to be able to put the game aside and just take in what this amazing experience is and with all these great people," Lindsay says. "This is awesome."

As for Maryanne, outside of one weather-related breakdown in a deleted scene from episode 10, she has excelled at smiling through the pain this season. "I'm having so much fun out here, man," she says in the clip. "I don't want it to end. I've never been more miserable or more wet or more hungry or more painful, but every single moment I'm just like, "Man, I am in Fiji right now, which I've watched and love.' And it's just like, I am so grateful I'm able to do this."

So who wins at limbo? Well, we have to admit that both performers are pretty impressive. Just check out their technique below!

As impressive as their flexibility is, one of them does indeed drop… and then gets a second chance. Which raises the question: Is there another hourglass and hammer out there we don't know about? Can you make history by changing history when it comes to limbo?
