What to Watch Wednesday: ID special looks at the disappearance of Myrtle Beach woman

2020 High School OT Honors (8 p.m., Fox) - WRAL recognizes the top athletes, coaches, teams and moments from across North Carolina during the 2019-2020 high school sports season.

Game On! (8 p.m., CBS) - In this new game show comic Gabriel Iglesias and professional basketball player J.R. Smith compete in challenges, including kicking a field goal and soccer drills with musicians Mark McGrath, Coolio and Macy Gray.

Disappeared in the Darkness: An ID Murder Mystery (9 p.m., Investigation Discovery) - For the third night of ID’s “Nine at 9” true crime series, it’s the story of 20-year-old Heather Elvis, who disappeared from Carolina Forest near Myrtle Beach in 2013. Police soon discover that after beginning a relationship with an older, married man Heather met through work, she began receiving threatening texts. She eventually ended the affair but disappeared after a mysterious rendezvous. Her ex-lover, Sidney Moorer, and his wife, Tammy, became the primary focus of the investigation, and soon a trail of dirty deeds was revealed: a kidnapping plot, a secret pregnancy, fraud and ultimately, obstruction of justice. The Moorers were eventually arrested and charged with kidnapping, but Heather Elvis has never been found. Also coming this week is a look at the murder of UNC student Faith Hedgepeth in Chapel Hill. Other cases to come feature Jeffrey Epstein, Kyron Horman, Jennifer Dulos, the BTK Killer and Joe Exotic.

Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (10 p.m., ABC) - In the Season 7 premiere, Coulson and the agents are thrust backward in time and stranded in 1931 New York City. With thee all-new Zephyr set to time-jump at any moment, they must hurry to find out exactly what happened.
