YG Entertainment has announced the final line-up of its upcoming girl group, BABYMONSTER.

It was revealed through a video hosted by YG Entertainment founder Yang Hyun-suk in which he decides on the trainees one-by-one.

The initial final line-up included Ahyeon, Ruka, Chiquita, Haram and Pharita. YG Entertainment originally planned to debut only five members, but after receiving feedback from fans, they decided to include all seven trainees.

Yang Hyun-suk explained his decision to exclude Rora and Asa from the line-up, saying that he wanted Rora to debut with YG's next girl group, while Asa was being considered for a girl group project in Japan.

However, he stressed the importance of fans' opinions, stating, “'YG Family' is not just the gathering of YG artists, as I believe that YG fans and everyone who has diligently tuned in to these broadcasts are the true YG Family.”

He then replaced the original poster board featuring five members with one featuring all seven trainees and announced the group's new name, BABYMONSTER.

BABYMONSTER will be YG Entertainment's first girl group since BLACKPINK debuted in 2016.

The final line-up comes after the conclusion of the group's web show, “Last Evaluation,” where the members underwent challenges for YG Entertainment to choose who would debut.

The company has yet to announce the group's official debut date, but it is expected to be sometime in the fall.
