Oct. 6—A water main break on Ben King Road affected as many as 170 homes and two schools Wednesday morning, according to a post on the Cobb County government's Facebook page.

Early Wednesday, Cobb County posted that crews were on scene of the break near Ben King Road's intersection with Carrie Farm Road, working to make repairs. Around 11:10 a.m., the county posted again saying water service would be restored "momentarily."

Along with the homes, nearby Big Shanty Elementary School and St. Catherine of Siena Catholic School were affected.

Because of the water disruption, students at Big Shanty were relocated to North Cobb High School for the remainder of the day, according to Cobb School District spokeswoman Nan Kiel.

Representatives of St. Catherine could not immediately be reached for comment.
