UPDATE: Boil advisory for Harrison Twp. lifted after water main break

The boil advisory for Harrison Township residents has been lifted, officials posted on the township’s Facebook page Friday.

The advisory was lifted at around 11:45 a.m. for 1,820 customers in Harrison Township after a City of Dayton water main break, the township says.

The county says to be sure to fully flush your water from you lines for about three to five minutes and be sure to throw out any ice your ice maker made during that time, according to a post on Harrison Township’s social media.

The boil advisory issued Wednesday remains in effect for 1,820 customers in Harrison Township after a City of Dayton water main break, according to a media release by the Montgomery County Environmental Services.

Residents are encouraged to continue using bottle water for drinking and cooking purposes, the county said.

Water sampling of the area must wait until the water main has been stabilized, according to the Montgomery Environmental Services.

There is no estimate of when the boil advisory will be lifted, the county said.

The affected area is Siebenthaler to the south of Shoup Mill and Turner Road to the north and Philadelphia Drive to the west and east to Riverside Drive, officials posted on the township’s Facebook page Wednesday.

A boil advisory is in effect until further notice, according to a public information officer for Montgomery County Environmental Services.

The boil advisory impacts roughly 140 homes within the city of Dayton and 1,800 homes within the county, according to both the City of Dayton and the Montgomery County Environmental Services.

The affected area is Siebenthaler to the south of Shoup Mill and Turner Road to the north and Philadelphia Drive to the west and east to Riverside Drive, officials posted on the township’s Facebook page Wednesday.

The break is reported along Riverside Drive in Dayton at Ryburn Avenue, the township says.

Riverside Drive is shut down in both directions from Siebenthaler Avenue to East Bruce Avenue.

Anyone experiencing problems should call the city of Dayton, according to a post on Harrison Township’s social media.
