NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans has partnered with tech company Promise to offer a new payment plan option to customers.
SWBNO officials said Promise is a tech company that works with government agencies to develop the best way for customers to pay their past-due balances.
According to the SWBNO, the partnership will allow customers to set up interest-free payments through PromisePay. The new program is available to customers, property owners and tenants who have a past-due bill of $50 or more.
The partnership is said to also protect customers who stay up to date with their plan from penalties, fees and water disconnections.
SWBNO officials said the PromisePay Portal provides:
Options to enroll in payment plans online, by mobile phone or call center
Convenient payment types including credit or debit cards, ACH, Apple Pay and Google Pay.
Text reminders and notifications
Payment flexibility and plan management with options to request allowable extensions, modify due dates, and change payment methods
