Waterloo woman dies when two teen drivers run Iowa City stop sign, hit her car, ISP says

A Waterloo woman died late Saturday in Iowa City after two teen drivers ran a stop sign and smashed into her car, the Iowa State Patrol reported.

Jennifer Russell, 22, was in the intersection of East Court Street and Seventh Avenue when Kesean Ford and Elijah Seals, both of Iowa City, ran the stop sign in separate westbound cars and struck hers, according to the accident report.

The accident occured just before 11 p.m. Russell, Ford, Seals and a third 17-year-old were all taken to the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics, where Russell was pronounced dead, the report said. It did not say whether charges had been filed.

Iowa City police aided in the investigation of the crash, the report said.
