Watertown announces snow alert, plowing schedule set

The Watertown Street Department has started plowing and sanding highways, emergency snow routes, Willow Creek Drive, the south bypass and roads near Lake Kampeska.

Once that work is done, plowing will continue on city streets today.

Tuesday, snow will be removed from the Downtown Business District and plowing will continue on avenues. Downtown business owners should have snow cleared from curbside sidewalks before 3 a.m. Tuesday.

Parking on streets, avenues or snow routes during the days they are scheduled to be plowed will result in a $40 fine, which increases to $80 if not paid in three days. Vehicles that aren't moved within 24 hours of being plowed around will be towed at the owner's expense.
