Watertown girls' game pushed back to Friday, region schedule altered
Watertown High School's home girls basketball game against Harrisburg has been pushed back to Friday because of the winter storm.
The game, originally scheduled Thursday, will be played at 7 p.m. in the Civic Arena.
The storm also affected Thursday's scheduled region girls basketball games for Class A and B teams. Here are updates for area regions.
Region 1A
Tourney moved to Saturday and Monday. Games Saturday include No. 4 Aberdeen Roncalli (10-9) vs. No. 5 Redfield (10-10) at 1 p.m. and No. 8 Tiospa Zina (5-14) vs. No. 1 Sisseton (17-2) at 2:30 p.m. in games at Sisseton; and No. 2 Milbank (12-7) vs. No. 7 Webster Area (7-12) at 1 p.m. and No. 3 Groton Area (12-8) vs. No. 6 Waubay-Summit (9-10) at 2:30 p.m. in Milbank. The winners meet in the semifinals on Monday.
Region 2A
Games postponed to Saturday include No. 8 Estelline-Hendricks (9-11) at No. 1 Hamlin (19-0), noon; No. 5 Elkton-Lake Benton (12-8) at No. 4 Sioux Valley (13-7), 6 p.m.; No. 7 Clark-Willow Lake (7-12) at No. 2 Florence-Henry (16-2), 6 p.m. in Florence; and No. 6 Great Plains Lutheran (10-10) at No. 3 Flandreau (16-4), noon. Semifinals are now scheduled for Monday.
Region 6A
Tuesday's games were postponed to Friday including No. 5 North Central (10-10) vs. No. 4 Crow Creek (10-10) at 6 p.m. and No. 8 Cheyenne-Eagle Butte (2-18) vs. No. 1 Miller (16-4) at 7:30 p.m. in Miller; and No. 6 Stanley County (6-14) vs. No. 3 Dupree (15-5) at 6 p.m. and No. 7 McLaughlin (5-15) vs. No. Mobridge-Pollock (14-6) at 7:30 p.m. in Mobridge. The date and times for semifinals are to be determined.
Region 1B
The No. 9 Waverly-South Shore (0-20) at No. 8 Langford Area (3-16) play-in game is set for 3:30 p.m. Friday in Langford with semifinal games moved back to Saturday including: WSS/Langford Area winner at No. 1 Warner (14-6), 5 p.m.; No. 5 Britton-Hecla (5-14) at No. 4 Hitchcock-Tulare (7-13) at 5 p.m. in Tulare; No. 7 Aberdeen Christian (2-18) at No. 2 Leola-Frederick Area (14-6), 1 p.m.; and No. 6 Wilmot (5-14) at No. 3 Northwestern (12-7), 7 p.m. The semifinals are now scheduled for Monday.
Region 2B
Region 2B semifinal games scheduled for Thursday have been pushed back to Saturday in the Huron Arena: No. 1 Wolsey-Wessington (19-2) vs. No. 5 James Valley Christian (15-6) and No. 2 Arlington (17-4) vs. No. 3 Castlewood (14-7).
Region 6B
Three games have been moved to Friday including quarterfinal games between No. 8 Ipswich (6-15) at No. 1 Sully Buttes (17-3), 5 p.m.; and No. 5 Lower Brule (10-9) at No. 4 Herreid-Selby Area (10-10, 6 p.m. in Herreid. The semifinal game featuring No. 3 Lyman (13-7) at No. 2 Potter County (14-7) will be held at 6 p.m. Friday in Gettysburg. Semifinal games are expected to be played on Saturday.
