Watertown to host first nonprofit happy hour to celebrate Giving Tuesday at the Goss

The Tuesday after Thanksgiving is one of the most important of the year, Giving Tuesday. In Watertown, the Goss Opera House is celebrating Giving Tuesday by hosting a free, local event from 4-7 p.m. on Tuesday to meet over 30 local nonprofits and community service groups.

This event will be the city's first nonprofit happy hour, where the public can meet over 30 local nonprofits working daily to meet crucial needs for thousands in the area.

Giving goes beyond dollars. Time and talent are also valuable commodities, with the independent sector valuing one hour of volunteer time worth $29.95. Nonprofits always need passionate people with the time and talent to govern an organization.

Attending the nonprofit happy hour as it is the best place to start if interested in learning how to give time and talent back to the community. The Goss will give out door prizes throughout the night.
