Watertown tennis team tops SF Jefferson, Milbank in triangular

.

SIOUX FALLS — Watertown High School's boys tennis team kicked off a busy stretch with dual wins over Sioux Falls Jefferson 8-1 and Milbank 9-0 in a triangular on Tuesday.

The Arrows (3-1) went 12-0 in singles and 5-1 in doubles on the day.

"I was happy with how the day went. I thought the kids played some smart tennis as they battled pretty strong winds and it got warm," said Watertown head coach Ryan Zink.

Curtis Sneden, Mark Mahowald, Evan Meester, Justin Remmers, Tyler Dingsor and Joey Meester each went 2-0 singles. Sneden-Mahowald and E. Meester-Remmers each were 2-0 in doubles and Dingsor-Sam Karst 1-1.

"I would like to see our doubles teams communicate a little more," said Zink. "We still have some things we can improve on."

The Arrows travel to Brandon Friday to play Brandon Valley and Rapid City Stevens. They'll return home to host Aberdeen Roncalli and Sioux Falls Roosevelt on Monday, before closing out next week by facing Rapid City Central at Brookings on Thursday and taking on Sioux Falls Washington and Pierre on Friday in Sioux Falls.
