Watro announces office locations in Mahanoy City, Hazleton

Jan. 9—Newly sworn-in state Rep. Dane Watro, R-116, Kline Twp., has announced two district office locations.

His Mahanoy City office is at 1 W. Centre St., while his Hazleton office is at 145 E. Broad St., Suite 1.

In a news release, the lawmaker said offices can assist constituents with issues, including vehicle registrations, driver's license renewals and special tags; property tax/rent rebate applications; Low-Income Heating Assistance Program applications; and birth certificate and death record applications.

"My staff and I will be happy to assist you and your family with any state-related matters," said Watro, who took his oath of office Jan. 3 in Harrisburg. "I look forward to meeting constituents in the new and old portions of the 116th District."

The 116th District had been entirely in Luzerne County but was redrawn to include parts of Schuylkill and Luzerne.

The Schuylkill portion is comprised of the townships of East Union, Kline, Mahanoy, North Union and Union; and the boroughs of Mahanoy City, McAdoo, Ringtown and Shenandoah. The Luzerne portion is comprised of the City of Hazleton, Hazle Twp. and West Hazleton Borough.

State Sen. David G. Argall, R-29, Rush Twp., had announced in December that he would share an office with Watro in Hazleton, although Argall's portion is not open to the public yet due to construction.

Argall's Mahanoy City office is also at 1 W. Centre St.

He also has a Weissport office, where he shares space with Rep. Doyle Heffley, R-122.

The redrawn 29th District includes all of Schuylkill and Carbon counties and parts of Luzerne County, including the City of Hazleton; the boroughs of Bear Creek Village, Freeland, Jeddo, Penn Lake Park, West Hazleton and White Haven; and the townships of Bear Creek, Buck, Dennison, Foster and Hazle.

Previously, the 29th included all of Schuylkill and parts of northern and western Berks County.
