Waukesha West High School students have been evacuated from school after the principal received an email threat
Students were evacuated from Waukesha West High School Friday afternoon after the principal received an email in the morning about a threat to students during lunch, according to a news release from the district.
The district conducted a staggered evacuation of all students. Students who drive were released first followed by students who ride the bus. The district instructed those students to take their bus home per usual. Parents who picked up their students were asked to report to St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 2400 W. State Road 59, to do so.
School officials specifically told parents not go to the West High School campus at 3301 Saylesville Road.
The Waukesha Police Department is investigating the threat. As of 12:45 p.m, police said they had no additional information to share with the public.
Separate from the email threat, district officials said there was also heavy police presence at Waukesha South High School on Thursday and Friday due to conflicts between students. South administrators, school staff and the Waukesha Police Department addressed the issues, according to a separate news release from the district.
