Here's what to know about the 2023 Tosa Life Photo Contest, a tradition that's run every summer since 2017.

Who can submit photos to the Tosa Life Photo Contest?

All ages can participate as long as they are the sole owner and creator of the photo.

By submitting a photo, you're giving the city permission to use it for things like social media posts and brochures. Full terms and conditions can be found at www.tosaphotos.com/contest-rules.

What kinds of photos can I submit?

Photos, which must be taken within the city limits, are meant to celebrate Tosa and capture the best parts of being there.

There are four categories a photo can win in:

  • Cityscape: homes, businesses and/or buildings

  • Environment: parks, open spaces, rivers, trails

  • Community engagement/special events: farmers markets, concerts, art shows

  • Popular vote: the photo with the most votes

How do I submit a photo to the contest?

Until Aug. 31, photos can be uploaded to www.tosaphotos.com/upload-photos.

How do I vote in the Tosa Life Photo Contest?

As of Aug. 1, anyone can vote for their favorite photo at www.tosaphotos.com/photo-contest-vote.

Voting closes on Aug. 31.

What are the prizes for the winners?

The four winners, one from each category, will receive a "swag bag" and gift card to a local business.

This year, gift cards will be to "newer businesses," said city communications manager Eva Ennamorato, including Joy Ice Cream, Kwench, Maggio’s Pizza and Mochi Ring.

Winners will be contacted within a few days of the end of the contest, Ennamorato said.
