Wauwatosa's Egg & Flour Pasta Bar to close in February
After opening inside Metcalfe's Market in Wauwatosa in 2021, Egg & Flour Pasta Bar will close its location there this February.
Chef-owner Adam Pawlak cited the coronavirus pandemic, inflation, and staffing shortages as the reasons for the closure. Egg & Flour isn't alone in dealing with these issues.
"It's not like that's my only store either so I'm dealing with that times three," Pawlak said.
The store, nestled inside Metcalfe's Market at 6700 W. State St., will close sometime in early February.
"It didn't work for us and it's okay," Pawlak said, adding that he can now focus on the other two restaurants along with more private events and catering opportunities.
Egg & Flour will continue to operate its Bay View location and its Crossroads Collective location on Milwaukee's east side.
Pawlak said another store in Wauwatosa might be in the cards sometime down the road.
"This isn't the end but for now it is definitely," he said.
