WAVE OF SUCCESS: Splash Club swimmers zip to several high finishes at Stars of Summer

First place performances became common place at last week’s Splash Club Stars of Summer outdoor meet at Sooner Pool.

More than 300 pool warriors — representing 11 teams from throughout the state and region — descended on the legendary facility to crowd the decks and keep the water dancing non-stop during the two-day action.

Splash Club athletes turned the tide in their favor in several events.

The home team captured 46 championships in individual events.

Melina Megaly (girls, 11-12) and Addie Howze (girls, 13-14) led the golden charge by winning nine events each.

Griffin Craig surged to the top spot in five events to lead the boys’ first-place grabs.

Splash Clubbers that cruised to supremacy in four events each included Aidan Howze (girls, 15-and-older) and Aysen Offutt (boys, 11-12).

The number of Splash Club battlers who posted at least one individual victory was 14.

“We had wonderful days of competition Friday and Saturday before we got rained out on Sunday,” Splash Club head coach Chad Englehart said.

Following is a list of the first-place finishers for the Splash Club. Other results are planned to be published next week.
