‘Waves of showers’ Saturday before sun comes back during workweek

The Chicago area can expect “waves of showers” Saturday, with more rain possible Sunday, before the sun comes back just in time for the workweek, according to the National Weather Service.

Showers Saturday will give way to mist, drizzle and fog in the evening as temperatures dip into the mid-40s, the weather service said. The high of 66 will be tempered by gray skies all day.

Saturday’s White Sox game against the Royals on the South Side was postponed because of the inclement weather. The game will be made up May 14, and both games will be seven innings.

Rain may persist during the day Sunday — a 60% chance — before clearing in the evening, according to the weather service.

The sun will start to return Monday and Tuesday, with daytime highs in the low 60s and mid-50s, respectively.
