Waves Thrash as Category 4 Hurricane Fiona Heads for Bermuda

A Saildrone deployed in the Atlantic Ocean captured dramatic footage of the now Category 4 Hurricane Fiona on September 22, facing 50-foot waves and winds of over 100 mph.

Video shows the thrashing Atlantic Ocean on Thursday, captured by Saildrone Explorer SD 1078.

As of Thursday afternoon, Fiona remained a Category 4 hurricane, moving north as its outer bands began to affect Bermuda.

The National Hurricane Center warned that significant impacts from wind, storm surge, and heavy rainfall were increasingly likely for Atlantic Canada. Credit: Saildrone/NOAA via Storyful
