'Way to Go Buddy!': Disabled Toddler Learns to Sit Up Without Assistance

A two-year-old battling spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) brought joy to his parents when he sat upright without any assistance in Apple Valley, California.

Dalton Winton was diagnosed with SMA – a disease that affects the motor nerve cells in the spinal cord, taking away the ability to walk, eat, or breathe – when he was one, but has made progress since receiving treatment for his condition.

“Even with his disability he is such a happy and smart little guy,” his parents said in a GoFundMe page set up to raise revenue to pay for their son’s medical expenses.
