Most races across the county will be uncontested, though there are several that will be, including the Mayor of Richmond, Common Council seats in Richmond and Town Council seats in Cambridge City and Milton.

Two of the most competitive races are expected to be for the mayor of Richmond and seats on the city's Common Council. There are four candidates for Mayor: incumbent Democrat Dave Snow, Republican Ron Oler and two independents in David (Batman) Carpenter and Howard J. Price.

For Common Council At-Large, there are six candidates running for three seats, split evenly between three Democratic and three Republican candidates each. Republican Jane E. Bumbalough is the only incumbent on the ballot, with Justin R. Burkhardt and Jerry L. Purcell also running on the Republican ticket. Democratic candidates for the seats are Claudia Edwards, Ron Itnyre and Carl Rhinehart III.

In Cambridge City, the lone contested race will be for the seat on Town Council for District 5 between Republican incumbent Jeff Mardis and independent Gary Cole.

In Milton, two Republicans are contesting for Clerk-Treasurer: incumbent Terry Craig and Amy Smith, while the Town Council At-Large race will have six candidates for five seats.
