RICHMOND, Ind. — The Wayne County Foundation has announced 10 grant recipients.

Nine nonprofits will receive $97,783 during the second 2022 grant cycle and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Wayne County will receive a $35,000 Impact Grant Program award, according to a news release.

The year's second grant cycle is to support local programs or projects that enhance the spirit of the community and improve quality of life in Wayne County. The foundation previously awarded 18 organizations $146,015 this year, and its third grant cycle awards will be announced in September.

"The Wayne County Foundation is very excited about this most recent round of grants," Executive Director Rebecca Gilliam said. "The impact of the work of these organizations is realized on a daily basis. We are a proud partner of the great work they accomplish around our community."

Grantmaking is possible because of income from unrestricted and endowed field-of-interest funds.

Impact Grants provide for larger programs or projects addressing a community need with long-term sustainability and future funding by the organization. The Boys & Girls Clubs plan a major teen center renovation and construction of a new staff training facility at the west-side McDaniel Unit.
