Wayne library offers Books in Park, line dancing, cooking club and books, too, this summer

The Wayne County Public Library has something for everyone across all its library locations this summer. From engaging book clubs and story times to interactive family events, to the always popular Summer Reading Club, staff has curated a summer that has something for readers, learners and explorers of all ages and interests.

Explore diverse collections of books, movies, music and things like games, 3D printers and WiFi hotspots; connect with family, friends and neighbors at the library! .

Summer Reading Club runs through July 29. Join at any point. Pick up a paper log at any WCPL location or sign up and log using the Beanstack app or webpage at wcpl.beanstack.org.

The library has reoccurring programs for knitters and crocheters at the Shreve, Rittman and Wooster branches. Spice it Up cooking club for aspiring is held at the Wooster branch, and there is line dancing at the West Salem branch.

Special summer programs include opportunities to meet new creatures with Our Zoo to You (Shreve, Doylestown and West Salem), the Akron Zoomobile (Wooster and Creston), Outback Ray’s Amazing Animal Show (Wooster), Realm of the Reptile (Dalton) and Bringing the Farm to You Petting Zoo (Shreve).

Other opportunities include the Bubble Lady (Creston, Dalton and Doylestown), Mad Science (Dalton), Bring the Farm to You Children’s Homestead (Wooster) and Artist at Work! (West Salem).

Join the bookmobile across the county at Books in the Park for stories, crafts and fun (Dalton, Doylestown, Creston, Rittman, Shreve, West Salem).
