Wayne Township trustee holds off challenger; Jefferson Township adds new faces
RICHMOND, Ind. – Incumbent Wayne Township Trustee Susan Isaacs garnered 60 percent of the vote to ward off Democratic challenger Cassandra Brown.
In Jefferson Township, incumbent board member Max Soliday (27.88%) will be joined by fellow Republicans Gary Keesling (30.53%) and Anne Smith (27.07%). The lone Democrat, Chad Neal (14.52%), failed at his attempt at a board seat.
A great number of Republicans ran unopposed for trustee in other Wayne County townships. Those included: Steven Kaiser, Abington; incumbent Sandra Nocton, Boston; incumbent Vicki Chasteen, Center; incumbent Rebecca Cool, Clay; incumbent Lance Lumpkin, Dalton; incumbent John Roll, Franklin; incumbent Robert D. Conyers, Greene; incumbent James Fagan, Harrison; incumbent Lyndon Wicker, Jackson; Chris Lane, Jefferson; incumbent Jeff Himelick, New Garden; incumbent Dan Hollenberg, Perry; incumbent Ken Risch, Washington; and incumbent George Haskett, Webster.
Townships with no board challenges on Election Day – with three or fewer candidates – included:
Abington: Republicans Theresa Clark, Melinda Glover and Douglass Toshlog;
Boston: Republicans Jack Buckland, Todd Lafuse and Patricia Ravinet;
Center: Republicans Jodi French, Shari Markley and Steve Poindexter;
Clay: Republicans Louis Artman Jr. and Jan Riggleman, and Libertarian Cheryl Heacox;
Dalton: Republicans Larry Joe Black, Craig Dishman and Bill Sullivan;
Franklin: Republicans Don Berger, Dale Spencer and Scott Stemple;
Greene: Republicans Benjamin Alyea, Alex Nocton and Steve Nocton;
Harrison: Republicans Timothy Arnold, David Bertsch and Sara Jane Moyer;
