WCSO: Man dies after falling down elevator shaft at Seacrest home under construction

SEACREST BEACH — A man was killed Wednesday after he reportedly fell down an elevator shaft at a construction site.

Walton County sheriff’s deputies responded to the 8000 block of Walton County Road 30A in Seacrest Beach after they received a 911 call about the accident, according to a WCSO Facebook post.

The Sheriff’s Office posted about the incident just after 3 p.m.

When deputies arrived at the home under construction, they found a man had fallen down an elevator shaft. Life-saving measures were unsuccessful and he was pronounced dead at the scene, the WCSO reported.

A portion of CR 30A was shut down for a time to make way for the South Walton Fire District crews.

No foul play is suspected.

A GoFundMe account titled “Help support Jose’s kids after sudden death” was started shortly after the accident. According to the website, Jose Molina had four young daughters, "a loving family and many friends."

The page was reportedly created to help support his children and family in the days following the accident.
