The wealthy Republicans who want to oust Trump

The Lincoln Project - a prominent Republican-backed Super PAC opposing Donald Trump's re-election - has released ad after ad ruthlessly targeting the U.S. President.

The searing ads by the group - which supports Democratic opponent Former Vice President Joe Biden - have become ubiquitous on social media.

And caught the attention of Jimmy Tosh - a lifelong Republican, who says the ads are serving their purpose.

"They're getting into Donald Trump's head which I think is a good thing, to let him know that there's people out there who do not appreciate the things he's doing to this country."

Tosh - who runs a multi-million dollar hog and grain farm in Tennessee - is pro-gun and agrees with most of Trump’s agenda but wants to see him gone in November.

"I probably agree with about 80% of what he's doing, but from a morality standpoint I cannot stand a liar, I can't stand a vindictive individual, I can't stand an egomaniac and I think he's a bigot."

And he's putting his money where his mouth is, giving $11,000 to the Lincoln project.

The 70 year old is one of a growing number of wealthy conservatives in America who say Trump is a threat to democracy and the health of the Republican Party.

Plus, they're supporting his opponent.

Their money has fueled an unprecedented campaign from members of a sitting president’s own party to oust him from office, a sign that Trump has alienated some Republicans.

But others are skeptical, noting that Trump is vastly out-raising and outspending the Never Trump groups and still enjoys nearly 90% support among Republicans.

Yet in a close election, analysts say, even peeling away a sliver of wavering Republicans and some independents could make a difference.

Tosh says he laments what he sees as complicity by the GOP.

"Well, I'm a little disappointed in the Republican party for the amount of enablers that we have in the Republican party for Trumpism."

Because of this -- Tosh says he won't be supporting any Republican on the ballot in Tennessee.
