The Weather Authority visits Albertville High

ALBERTVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — On Thursday, Meteorologist Jessica Camuto spent the day at Albertville High School speaking with the 12th-grade earth science classes.

While there, Jessica spoke to the students about her background in the broadcast field and where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree.

Though originally from western New York, she told the students she ventured to Alabama to get more experience in severe weather forecasting.

Students learned about how the Weather Authority forecasts the weather for viewers here in the Tennessee Valley and how they receive data from the upper levels of the atmosphere.

Jessica spoke with the students about this past week’s winter storm event and the April 27th Tornado Outbreak. They also discussed the importance of having multiple ways of receiving weather alerts!
