Weather delays, alters NCAA Beach Volleyball Championships Tournament schedule on Friday

Weather delayed Friday's action at the 2022 NCAA Beach Volleyball Championships Tournament in Gulf Shores, Alabama.

The Florida State beach volleyball Twitter account was one of the first to announce the weather delay at 10:02 a.m. CT on Friday. The delay then lasted 3 1/2 hours.

Matches resumed with No. 5 seed Florida State facing No. 4-seeded Loyola Marymount. It is the second of eight matches scheduled for Friday.

Though eight matches were originally scheduled for Friday, the NCAA announced that Friday's final two matches were being moved to Saturday morning starting at 8 a.m. CT.

Florida State tweeted at 12:25 p.m. CT that matches were now going to resume at 1:30 p.m. CT. And the matches did resume at 1:30 p.m. CT.

LSU confirmed via a tweet at 1:20 p.m. CT that matches are going to start at 1:30 p.m. CT on Friday.

The NCAA announced at 10:28 a.m. CT on Friday that matches were scheduled to resume at 1 p.m. CT.

Before the weather delay, Southern California defeated Florida Atlantic 3-0 in Friday's first match of the day.

USC advances to face the winner of FSU and LMU. FAU now faces the loser of FSU and LMU.
