Plenty of rain in Central Mass.: How much?

The heavy rain that battered Central Massachusetts overnight Tuesday had given way to clear skies by early Wednesday afternoon.

Flooding that slowed travel during the morning, notably on Route 20 at Grafton Street and on the Massachusetts Turnpike in Charlton, had largely receded by the afternoon commute.

Worcester collected about 2.6 inches of rain, with Mendon and Uxbridge getting the most in the region, 3 ½ inches.

Temperatures in Worcester climbed into the 50s Wednesday.

In Shrewsbury, a tree fell on a mobile home early Wednesday, damaging the structure. There were no reported injuries.

Boylston: 2.53

Fitchburg: 2.44

Holden: 2.41

Wesminster: 2.19

Ashburnham: 2.04

Barre: 1.95
