What will the weather be like on Thanksgiving Day, Black Friday? Check Cincinnati forecast

Give thanks, Greater Cincinnatians, because it will be a beautiful Turkey Day this year.

According to the National Weather Service in Wilmington, considerable cloudiness is expected throughout the day on Wednesday, with periods of drizzle at times.

But then high pressure will build back into the region, bringing drier air and near-seasonable temperatures. There will be a quiet weather pattern Wednesday night into Thanksgiving Day.

Partly sunny conditions are expected on Thanksgiving Day, with highs near 47 degrees. The temperatures are not off par from previous Thanksgivings, with the average high temperature at 48 degrees and the average low at 32, according to the NWS' Thanksgiving Day climatology, which measured data from 1871 to 2020.

A dry cold front will push through the area Thursday, bringing below-normal temperatures for the end of the week and into the weekend, with highs falling to nearly 10 degrees below average early next week.

Rain, thunderstorms, snow, wind, fog and ice are all in the forecast for the central and eastern United States, per AccuWeather. However, there is no rain forecast for the Greater Cincinnati region at this time, per the NWS.

Will the weather affect Thanksgiving travel?

USA Today reports that most of the nation should see good weather for travel. For travelers who wait until Thursday, not only will much of the Midwest and Northeast be dry on Thanksgiving Day, but so will most of the nation, AccuWeather said.

AAA predicts this Thanksgiving will see the third-highest volume of travelers on the road since 2000. AAA projects that 55.4 million travelers nationwide will head 50 miles or more from home over the Thanksgiving holiday travel period, a 2.3% increase over last year.
