Weather Service Timelapse Shows Temperatures Plummeting in Kansas City

Temperatures plummeted in Kansas City, Missouri, and the surrounding area, overnight on Wednesday into Thursday, December 22, the National Weather Service (NWS) said.

Wind chills as low as -36 degrees Fahrenheit (-38 Celsius), were recorded in Marysville, Kansas, on Thursday, the NWS said.

The NWS’s Kansas City office filmed a timelapse early on Thursday morning showing the temperature dropping over 4.5 hours from 33.1 F to 8.8 F as a storm front moved through the area. The temperature got down to 2 F as of 6:45 am, the weather service said. Credit: NWS Kansas City via Storyful
