Webcams follow Hurricane Dorian as it batters the beaches along the NC coast

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – The eye of Hurricane Dorian was heading toward Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Thursday night.

Live webcams indicate that beaches in North Carolina are already feeling the effects. The Category 2 storm's outer bands are hitting the Carolina coast with heavy rain and strong winds.

Dorian is expected to move near or over the coast of North Carolina late Thursday night and Friday, according to the latest update from the National Hurricane Center. Over the next couple of hours, tropical storm conditions are expected to turn to hurricane conditions.
