Wednesday local baseball roundup: East Side Legion rolls to sweep of Main South

East Side 15, Main South 1; East Side 19, Main South 9: Jack Lizewski drove in six runs for East Side in the second game as the Raiders (18-4) completed a sweep of Main South (7-15), both in five innings at Tivnan Field in regular-season finales for both teams.

Noah Pratt (4 runs), Joe Bazydlo and Chris Palermo each had three hits for East Side, and teammate Alex Charlonne had three RBIs. The Raiders scored six runs in the fifth inning of the nightcap to trigger the 10-run rule.

Braden McLoughlin drove in three runs for Main South in Game 2.

For the night, East Side scored in each inning except the fifth of the first game.

In the opener, Jake LeFrancois and Colin Johnson each had three hits with a triple and four RBIs to power East Side to a five-inning victory. Will Ernst didn't allow an earned run and struck out eight in the five innings. Jake O'Donnell had two hits and scored the run for Main South in the first inning.

Leominster 8, Northbridge 5: Sean Dutton doubled, homered and drove in three runs, and Brandon Arsenault and Danny Wright also had two hits for host Leominster (15-7) at McLaughlin Park. Leominster struck out 12 in a bullpen game for Post 151 in its regular-season finale.

Nick Artuna had two RBIs for Northbridge (9-13).

Milford 11, Sturbridge 0: Andrew Gaughan had a double, three-run homer and four RBIs while powering visiting Milford (16-4) in five innings. Scott Pagliuca added a double, three runs and drove in three.

Devin Krochmalnyckyj and Timothy Paine had the hits for Sturbridge (0-21).

North County 9, Northborough 3: Cam Ayotte was 3 for 3 with two triples for host Northborough (7-13) in a loss to North County (7-14) at Memorial Field.

Futures Collegiate League

Bravehearts 3, Westfield 2: Kosta Drosidis of Holden doubled twice and drove in a go-ahead run in the sixth inning, and host Worcester (17-24) held off the Starfires (20-20).

Ben Smith allowed just one earned run and five hits in seven innings while striking out four, and Zander Gilmartin pitched two shutout innings to notch the save in his Bravehearts debut.
