Wednesday season 1 spoilers follow.

Jenna Ortega took to Instagram in the wake of Wednesday scoring several nominations at the Emmy Awards.

The star received a nod for Best Actress in a Comedy Series during yesterday's (July 13) announcement ceremony. Meanwhile, The Addams Family inspired show executive produced and directed by Tim Burton is among the contenders for Best Comedy Series.

Following the news, Ortega posted a picture in which she's laying on the floor with co-star Gwendoline Christie, aka the shapeshifting Nevermore principal Larissa Weems.

"What wonderful news to hear the Wednesday team has received twelve Emmy nominations," Ortega wrote in the caption.

"I've been so fortunate to witness first hand the incredible time/effort being put in by our cast, crew, writers, and directors, and feel so excited to be able to share this with them," she continued before thanking the Television Academy.

As Wednesday will officially return to Nevermore for round two, Ortega's BTS snap could be more than just a celebratory post...

Season 1 ended with a big showdown between Wednesday and Christina Ricci's character Marilyn Thornhill, the botany teacher who was none other than the creature's master Laurel Gates.

Moments after Wednesday got her to disclose her true identity, Laurel killed Weems. However, there may be a chance for Christie to return in the upcoming chapter, as the Game of Thrones star herself teased in an exclusive chat with Digital Spy.

"We haven't seen her put in the ground, have we?" she said. "I feel like Larissa Weems would not really be prepared to entertain or be dominated by anything as commonplace as death."

Wednesday streams on Netflix – season 2 has been confirmed.
