Wednesday's South Shore high school tournament scoreboard

It's the homestretch of the winter high school sports season.

On Wednesday, three South Shore basketball teams were trying to punch their tickets to the Elite 8 while 10 hockey teams were trying to advance to the state semifinals.

The Duxbury boys and girls hockey team were set for a doubleheader at The Bog. Braintree boys hockey sold out Zapustas more than 24 hours before the puck was set to drop.

Defending champions BC High and Randolph were set to battle in the boys basketball tournament.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Central Catholic 51, BC High 46 (OT): The No. 13 Eagles lost in the Div. 1 Round of 16.

Randolph 74, West Bridgewater 56: The No. 7 Blue Devils advance to the Div. 4 Elite 8. Trystan Carter scored a game-high 18 points in the win while Jacob Sousa had 13 in the loss.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Bridgewater-Raynham 60, Newton North 43: The No. 7 Trojans advance to play at No. 2 Bishop Feehan in the Div. 1 Final Four. Natalia Hall-Rosa (25 points) and Reese Bartlet (12 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists) led the way for B-R (19-3).

BOYS HOCKEY

Canton 2, Newburyport 0: Colin Davis recorded the shutout as the No. 3 Bulldogs advance to the Div. 2 Final Four. Jeff Chaput and Colin Blake scored the goals. Canton will play Duxbury in the state semifinals.

Scituate 4, Essex North Shore 2: The top-seeded Sailors advance to the Div. 3 semifinals behind goals from Timmy Lochiatto, Dylan Richman, James Sullivan and Teagan Pratt.

Pope Francis 3, Marshfield 2: Cam McGettrick and Tommy Carroll, but the Rams lost in the Div. 1 Elite 8.

Reading 1, Braintree 0: The Wamps lost in the Div. 1 Elite 8.

Duxbury 4, Wakefield 0: Cormac Weiler, Brady Walsh (two) and Brendan Bonner scored goals while Sam Mazanec recorded a shutout. No. 2 Duxbury will play Canton in the Div. 2 semifinals.

Walpole 2, Silver Lake 1 (OT): Walpole scored the winning goal with 14 seconds remaining in overtime.

GIRLS HOCKEY

Duxbury 4, Malden Catholic 2: Maeve Gallagher, Megan Carney, Maddie Greenwood and McKenna Collela all scored goals for the No. 2 Dragons. Duxbury advances to the Div. 2 Final 4.

Notre Dame Academy 5, Bishop Feehan 3: Sarah White scored a hat trick as the No. 2 Cougars advance to the Div. 1 semifinals. Morgan Brady and Caroline Harnett scored the other goals. NDA rallied back from deficits of 2-0 and 3-2. The Cougars will play No. 3 Shrewsbury in the state semifinal.

Archbishop Williams 3, Burlington 0: Evelyn Lacey recorded the shutout while Caroline Batchelder scored two goals for the Bishops. Maggie Lynch scored the other goal. No. 2 Archies advances to the Div. 2 semifinals.

Shrewsbury 3, Hingham 2 (2OT): Caroline Doherty and Addie Garrity scored, but the No. 6 Harborwomen lost at the No. 3 seed in the Div. 1 semifinals.
