Wednesday's Top Prep Performers from basketball and soccer

Highlights from Wednesday in high school sports:

BOYS BASKETBALL

  • Joel Ipatzi scored 17 points, Josh Ullegue had 15 points, Sebastian Hernandez had 12 points, Colin Guenther finished with 10 points, five assists and four steals, and Zane Carter contributed nine points and nine rebounds to lead Buena (11-2) to a 71-36 win over Santa Clara on the second day of the Ventura Kiwanis Tournament.

  • Austin Maziasz finished with 24 points and eight rebounds, Braylon Butout scored 16 points, and Kayden Elsokary had 11 points, eight assists, six rebounds and three steals to lead Westlake (11-5) to a 61-36 victory over Ventura on the second day of the Ventura Kiwanis Tournament.

  • Josh Rosen scored 20 points, Campbell Gaston had 14 points, Willem Rutherford had 12 points, Beckham Rutherford finished with 11 points, and Evan Conant added six points to lead Nordhoff (9-4) to a 63-52 win over Rio Mesa on the second day of the Ventura Kiwanis Tournament.

  • Reese Widerburg scored 17 points, Jacob Terrill had 13 points, Dominik Contreras had 10 points, and Nathaniel Gomez added eight points to lead Oxnard (14-1) to a 61-55 win over Santa Fe Christian (12-3) in the quarterfinals of the Torrey Pines Holiday Classic.

  • Chase Aronowitz scored 16 points, Tyler Hook and Jack Bannon each finished with 10 points, and Josh Castaniero and Marcos Jaquez each added six points to lead Camarillo (10-6) to a 59-39 win over Highland at the Hart Tournament.

  • Isaiah Sherrard finished with 18 points and nine rebounds, Trey McDonald had nine points and eight assists, Dylan Hayse had nine points and five rebounds, and Steven Melina and Isaiah Kelley each scored nine points for Oak Park in its 59-54 loss to Lakewood at The Classic at Damien.

  • Christian Garcia had 15 points and three steals, Sergio Ornelas finished with 14 points, 12 rebounds and two blocks, and Richard Miranda had 12 points and two steals to lead Pacifica (6-9) to a 60-37 victory over Fremont on the second day of the Ernest Baskerville Christmas Tournament at South Pasadena High.

  • Trent McLean finished with 19 points and nine rebounds and Jacob Kjarval scored 15 points to lead Thousand Oaks to a 42-36 win over Inglewood on the second day of the Ernest Baskerville Christmas Tournament at South Pasadena High.

  • Gavin Murphy scored 25 points for Calabasas in its 64-61 loss to South Pasadena on the second day of the Ernest Baskerville Christmas Tournament at South Pasadena High.

  • Ryder Mjoen scored 35 points, Caleb Peters had nine rebounds and Sami Barakat grabbed seven rebounds for Simi Valley in its 49-45 loss to Palos Verde on the second day of the Rancho Mirage Desert Holiday Classic.

  • Ace Arnold finished with 24 points, Preston Lowry had 12 points, and Drew Romano and Jack Hurwitz each had nine points for Royal (7-10) in its 70-66 loss to Portola at the Rancho Mirage Desert Holiday Classic.

  • Joe Booth scored 22 points for Moorpark in its 63-53 loss to Pilibos at the Santa Barbara Holiday Classic.

  • Seamus Murphy scored 16 points, Sam Noah had 15 points, and Aidan Gomez and Nick Drucker each had 10 points to lead Foothill Tech to a 70-36 victory over Beacon Hill for the Dragons' first home win of the season.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

  • Sienna Angell had 12 points and four rebounds, Kristan Yumul had 11 points and three assists, and Azalea Kubic finished with six points, five rebounds, four assists and four steals to lead Oxnard (10-4) to a 48-22 win over Santa Clara on the second day of the Santa Clara Winter Classic.

  • Karisma Lewis scored 21 points, Skye Thomas had 10 points and Lily Marquez contributed six points for Buena in its 54-46 loss to Calabasas on the second day of the Santa Clara Winter Classic.

  • Hailey Lauritzen scored 12 points and grabbed 22 rebounds, Mila-Nai ColonYau had nine points, Soleil Nerdin had six points and 11 rebounds, and Bella Moreno added six points and seven assists to lead Thousand Oaks to a 38-32 overtime win over Royal on the second day of the Santa Clara Winter Classic.

  • Talia Behrens finished with 12 points, 11 rebounds and seven blocks, Milan Garcia had 10 points and five rebounds, and Cynthia Lemuz added six points and six rebounds to lead St. Bonaventure to a 37-31 win over Rio Mesa on the second day of the Santa Clara Winter Classic.

  • Mimi Moon finished with 18 points, four assists, four steals, three rebounds and two blocks, Jaydah Goins had 12 points, three assists, three steals and two rebounds, and Haven Ramirez had nine points, four rebounds and two steals to lead Pacifica to a 59-37 victory over Lakewood on the second day of the Santa Clara Winter Classic.

  • Kailee Staniland had 15 points and five rebounds, Jessie Sebek finished with 11 points and 13 rebounds, Sarah Beckman had eight points and four rebounds, Skyler Knight contributed five points and six assists, and Emily Rea added two points and five rebounds to lead Ventura to a 41-37 win over Hamilton in the West Coast Holiday Tournament at Burroughs High.

  • Emily Lim had 21 points and Makenna Phelan added seven points for Camarillo (8-8) in its 49-38 loss to Crescenta Valley in the West Coast Holiday Tournament at Burroughs High.

  • Jamilyn Carton finished with 19 points, six rebounds, four steals and three assists, Jordan Hayden had 19 points, 11 rebounds, three steals and two blocks, and Helena Koubek had 10 points, eight rebounds, two steals and two blocks to lead Agoura to a 53-49 win over Verdugo Hills in the West Coast Holiday Tournament at Burroughs High.

  • Emma Ange had 14 points and 11 rebounds, Mathis Dritz finished with 14 points and eight rebounds, Devin Feiereisen scored 13 points, and Aiden Pino had 12 points to lead Westlake (9-4) to a 64-26 win over Holtville on the second day of the Bonita Vista Gold Crown Tournament.

GIRLS SOCCER

  • Marlene Gonzalez scored two goals and Athena Sanchez had an assist to lead Fillmore (4-5-0) to a 2-1 win over Rio Mesa at the Buena Showcase. For the Spartans (7-3-2), Viviana Marmolejo scored the goal and Veronica Baehr, Kayla Golson, Tanaya Moreno and Samantha Quinonez played well.

  • Buena defeated Royal 2-0 at the Buena Showcase.

BOYS SOCCER

  • Alejandro Arellano, David Marmolejo, Carter Rosenbaum, Aiden Gonzalez and Alejo Lopez scored goals, Rodrigo Ambriz and Brandon Fuchs had assists, and Alan Gomez earned the shutout in net to lead Rio Mesa (2-8-3) to a 5-0 won over Lakeview at the Hart Tournament.
