Wednesday's Top Prep Performers from basketball, soccer and water polo

Highlights from Wednesday in high school sports:

BOYS BASKETBALL

  • Trey McDonald had 20 points and four assists, Isaiah Sherrard finished with 15 points, eight rebounds and three assists, Seshsha Henderson had 13 points and five assists, and Dylan Hayse had 10 points and seven rebounds to lead Oak Park (14-9, 4-0) to a 62-58 win over Simi Valley in a showdown for first place in the Coastal Canyon League. Ryder Mjoen scored 25 points and Justin Rener had 23 points to lead the Pioneers (14-8, 3-1).

  • Chase Aronowitz finished with 25 points, Tyler Hook and Marcos Jaquez each had 12 points, Jack Bannon contributed seven points, and Shawn Mills added six points to lead Camarillo (13-10, 2-2) to a 74-46 win over Moorpark in a Coastal Canyon League game.

  • Dominik Contreras scored 22 points, Reese Widerburg had 18 points, EJ Gomez had seven points, and Marcos Ramirez, Bobby Barajas, Lukas Rea and Nathaniel Gomez each finished with six points to lead first-place Oxnard (19-2, 7-0) to a 78-48 win over San Marcos in a Channel League game.

  • Zane Carter finished with 24 points and six rebounds, Josh Ullegue had 16 points and six rebounds, Colin Guenther contributed 11 points, eight assists and four rebounds, Daniel Ortiz had eight points and four assists, and Luke Ortiz added five points, 12 rebounds and four blocks as Buena (19-3, 6-2) earned a 70-64 overtime win over Santa Barbara to take over second place in the Channel League. Luke Zuffelato scored 29 points to lead the Dons (11-10, 5-2).

  • Richard Miranda hit five 3-pointers and finished with 15 points, Theo Briscoe had 13 points and five assists, Christian Garcia had 12 points and three steals, Sergio Ornelas had 11 points and 10 rebounds, and Alex Tamayo had 10 points and six rebounds as Pacifica (7-14, 1-6) hit 14 3-pointers in a 67-47 win over Ventura in a Channel League game. Travis Valenzuela scored a game-high 24 points and Finn Fancher had 10 points for the Cougars (6-15, 1-7).

  • Ethan Macias finished with 19 points and four assists, Nathan Duarte had 17 points and four assists, David Williams had 14 points and seven rebounds, Kamden Kiech had nine points and six rebounds, and Rodney Adams Jr. added seven points to lead Rio Mesa (11-10, 4-3) to a 74-61 win over Dos Pueblos in a Channel League game.

  • Willem Rutherford scored 26 points, Campbell Gaston finished with nine points, Cole Everett had eight points, and Luke Wells added seven points as Nordhoff (14-6, 6-1) hit 10 3-pointers in the first half en route to a 68-26 win over Hueneme in a Citrus Coast League game.

  • Jack Morris had 14 points, seven assists, five steals and three rebounds, Jacob Munoz scored 12 points, Nate Delgadillo finished with 11 points, 15 rebounds and four blocks, and Isaac Weslow had five points, nine rebounds, two blocks and two steals to lead Fillmore (9-9, 6-2) to a 49-44 win over host Santa Paula (5-7, 4-2) in a Citrus Coast League game.

  • Gavin Graves scored a game-high 18 points and Sam Noah and Nick Drucker each had 11 points to lead Foothill Tech (9-12, 1-1) to a 57-45 win over Grace Brethren in a Frontier League game.

  • Gavin Day finished with 10 points, 11 rebounds and seven assists, Brady Crawford had seven points and 10 rebounds, Ethan Day and Jomari Ong each scored seven points, and Ben Rodriguez had six points and six rebounds to lead Villanova Prep (5-11, 2-1) to a 37-34 win over Laguna Blanca in a Frontier League game.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

  • Makenna Phelan finished with 16 points, eight rebounds and three steals, Emily Lim had 16 points, four rebounds and four steals, Christa Contreras had 12 points, a season-high 16 rebounds and two steals, Keilani Peralta had nine points and a season-high seven assists, and Victoria Luna had eight rebounds, three assists and three steals to lead Camarillo (12-10, 3-1) to a 58-34 win over Moorpark in a Coastal Canyon League game. Avanthika Ramasamy scored six points to become the sixth player in Moorpark program history to reach 1,000 points for her career. Haya Abdallah and Kenedi Bikovsky each had six points and Mya Smith added five points and five steals for the Musketeers (3-14, 1-3).

  • Delaney White had 14 assists and eight rebounds, Jaelah Brown had six rebounds, and Ella Shmool and Lindsay Gould each grabbed five rebounds to lead first-place Oak Park (10-11, 4-0) to a 64-46 win over Simi Valley in a Coastal Canyon League game.

BOYS SOCCER

  • Michael Mariscal scored two goals and Vaughn Gomez-Smith and Aidan Trahan also found the net as Camarillo (4-8-4, 1-2-1) earned a 4-3 win over visiting Moorpark in a seven-goal thriller for its first Coastal Canyon League win. Juan Magdaleno, Javi Castro and Armando Acevedo scored the goals for the Musketeers (6-6-3, 2-2-0).

  • Charles Chowana scored the game's lone goal off an assist from Jason Moore to lift first-place Oak Park (12-1-0, 4-0-0) to a 1-0 win over Simi Valley (13-4-0, 2-2-0) in a Coastal Canyon League match.

  • Arnulfo Zepeda scored two goals, Alejandro Lanza had a goal and Diego Alcaraz had an assist to lead Fillmore (7-6-2, 4-2-1) to a 3-1 win over Santa Paula (6-5-2, 5-1-0) in a Citrus Coast League match.

  • Benjamin Aguilar scored two goals to lift Channel Islands to a 2-1 win over Carpinteria in a Citrus Coast League match.

  • Nordhoff defeated Hueneme 2-1 in a Citrus Coast League match. Ramiro Solórzano scored the goal for the Vikings.

GIRLS SOCCER

  • Anneliese Wong scored from Cassiday Epstein's free kick as Camarillo edged Moorpark, 2-1, in overtime in a showdown for first place in the Coastal Canyon League. Aleiyah Schexnayder had a goal and Kaylie Clem had an assist for the Scorpions (7-3-0), which improved to 4-0 in league play. Brielle Bickham scored the goal for the Musketeers (8-4-0, 3-1-0).

  • Macie Baird, Malea Johnson and Ava Dermott scored goals, Avery Mansmann had two assists, and Bella Harder and Emily Rychlik had assists to lead Oak Park (8-5-0, 2-2-0) to a 5-0 win over Simi Valley in a Coastal Canyon League match.

  • Aracely Toscano, Jackie Corral and Natalie Ruiz scored goals and Kimberly Hernandez and Joana Fernandez had assists to lead Hueneme (6-3-0, 4-3-0) to a 3-0 win over Nordhoff in a Citrus Coast League match.

  • Yahaira Ramirez scored the game's only goal to lift first-place and unbeaten Santa Paula (10-0-1, 6-0-0) to a 1-0 win over Fillmore (7-7-0, 4-3-0) in a Citrus Coast League match.

  • Channel Islands defeated Carpinteria 2-1 in a Citrus Coast League match.

GIRLS WATER POLO

  • Payton Steen had eight blocks and two goals, Luciana Grooms finished with four goals and two drawn ejections, and Rita Woolgar and Danica Jauregui scored goals to lead Rio Mesa to an 8-6 win over Buena in a Channel League game. Jacqueline Starr had three goals and a steal, Addison Bruno had a goal and six steals, Gabrielle Swaim had a goal and three steals, Kendall Nagaoka had a goal and a steal, Devin Varela had three steals, Mikayla Salas had a steal, and Kathryn Salazar had two blocks for the Bulldogs (13-10, 2-3).
